It also includes local gun classifieds sites and distributed publications who advertise online. A substantial number of media sources across the country have discontinued allowing firearms. The site simply displays feeds from the individual websites and is meant to help support them locally online for free. A growing number of collectors and enthusiasts are using the site to quickly check for gun shows and specific firearms they may be willing to travel in state for. ARMSCHAT.COM is another free site being developed to serve those who might desire to setup configurable private or public, firearms related chat rooms online.
More and more online firearms transactions are taking place. This site is primarily for those who are hesitant to call first or meet in order to gather basic information.
The initial vision of ARMSCHAT is to give users a place to discuss firearms classified ads online prior to sharing personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, work or meeting places. It could also be used to discuss item condition, or transaction details like shipping and FFL arrangements, etc.
This very basic gun chat room can be used to create custom rooms that registered users can setup, then send a password by email to guests. Options for room setup will be added as needed. Currently room name, topic, greeting, password, max users, public or private, moderated and expiration are room setup options.
It can also be used for general firearms related chat, or even evolve into a training related site.

In order to help users who choose to become more involved with the optional community concept at the various sites, a modification has been made to the feed output which can be configured by me at the individual sites to show the post “username” for classified ads posted at Montana Gun Classifieds using their optional account. Unregistered user ads still appear, they simply do not display a username.
See post usernames at the bottom of individual ads in the feeds at the various sites for the classifieds site. This modification is made to help avoid having to “register” at multiple sites. Authors and users who chooses to become active at the various sites can simply post relevant updates using their account at the classifieds site in order to quickly and easily post updates at each site.
