More and more online firearms transactions are taking place. This site is primarily for those who are hesitant to call first or meet in order to gather basic information.

The initial vision of ARMSCHAT is to give users a place to discuss firearms classified ads online prior to sharing personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, work or meeting places. It could also be used to discuss item condition, or transaction details like shipping and FFL arrangements, etc.

This very basic gun chat room can be used to create custom rooms that registered users can setup, then send a password by email to guests. Options for room setup will be added as needed. Currently room name, topic, greeting, password, max users, public or private, moderated and expiration are room setup options.

It can also be used for general firearms related chat, or even evolve into a training related site.

See post usernames at the bottom of individual ads in the feeds at the various sites for the classifieds site. This modification is made to help avoid having to “register” at multiple sites. Authors and users who chooses to become active at the various sites can simply post relevant updates using their account at the classifieds site in order to quickly and easily post updates at each site.

Ads posted at Montana Gun Classifieds in the firearms training services and events will now automatically appear at this site.

This new feature allows for easy management of all ads posted as well as the development of a personalized profile page. Profile pages can be simply for private listings or to manage a full blown online store or event management system. This modification is intended to help all users including private sellers and dealers. Service entities may also find it beneficial for listing promotions and events, or simply a personal page to keep social posts for use at the other Montana Guns sites the ads feed to. It allows the ability to easily edit, delete and update multiple ads from a personal user control panel once logged in.

The feeds displayed in the right sidebar of each site are configured to display ads posted at montanagunclassifieds.com, by category, related to that generic search engine term.

For example: Search for “Montana Ammunition” at Google.

This is done to help build online exposure to your firearms classified ads online. It is tuned to help increase search term and keyword criteria online.

As well as appearing at the main site, when users post ads  in the firearms category, they also appears at Montana Guns For Sale and Big Sky Gun Trader. Ads posted in other categories automatically appear  in the relevant gun sites as well.

These sites will be forever under construction and modification to better suit Montana’s online firearms needs.  Ads posted at Montana gun classifieds in the relevant categories automatically appear at the related firearm sites for the most part now. You can help develop the sites and Montana’s strength online with firearms by simply posting ads at the classified site. Individual ad hits and site stats increase daily as more folks “discover” the sites through online searches. I have no intention of ever paying to advertise these sites, they are long term projects on discovery mode. If your aware of or even want to post a local Mom and Pop gun shop with contact information and a review, that is now possible. Please choose the most appropriate category to do so. This can help build your ads local exposure and help local gun shops, dealers, gun clubs, shooting ranges, and enthusiasts, etc, go directly to the content they need, rather than having to dig for information.

Montana gun classifieds is a simple do it yourself, free advertising in Montana related to everything local firearms community site.

I personally relate to and consider the advent of the internet to the freeway system and how it affected the small towns in its path that dried up. The vision behind these sites is to help with this current and future problem. The larger online local retailers who have worked hard to become the leaders online in Montana may not like this, but this and all sites allow for the “little guys” and “Mom and Pop” shops to get their firearms and ammunition related goods and services online, without having to build a webpage of their own.  The “big guys” are also welcome to post free ads as well. This is an “equal opportunity” gun classifieds site. All categories require users to define whether they are dealer or not when posting, this enables an easy search if you’d rather deal with a private party.

I have debated on whether to modify to allow for user accounts and have decided to do so in order to make it easier for “Mom and Pop” to get online easier and update their information, any promotions they may decide to do and edit their existing ads, etc. More to come soon on this. It will be the simple ability to create and login to an account in order to edit your current ads.

Pulling a feed for your local website is simple. A main site feed is available that pulls all ads for the entire state from every category. The main site feed URL is: http://www.montanagunclassifieds.com/feed/posts/ Simply copy and paste this URL into your site however you like. The most recent 20 ads for your selection will display. To obtain specific city or category feeds, simply select your city, and subscribe for the main feed or click the city, then specific category and subscribe to that individual feed.

Several modifications and new categories have been added, this has been the objective since the beginning of this project. The listings now displayed to your lower right, are brought in from Montana Guns For Sale. The search function at the site is precise. Users can simply search by city to see all local ads from sites making it a quick, one stop shop, for local firearms, gun shows or any firearms related local classified ad.

As you see below the listings, the referral site is displayed. If an ad is posted at any of the sites from the feed list, it will automatically appear here normally within 60 minutes.

The purpose of Top Montana Gun Sites and Montana Gun Classifieds is to give Montana Gun Owners a local resource to advertise firearms business, private and dealer items, post and share events, news articles and more, all for free.

These local sites include a variety of local firearms resources to enthusiasts as well as free local resources for auctions, classifieds and appraisals to help build and maintain strength “online” in Montana rather than having it continue to completely develop out of state.
